May 2nd- Town Cleanup
own Clean-up - the troop tries to conduct a town wide service project to allow the boys to give back to the Town. This year it will be on April 2nd from 9am to noon; we'll meet at the middle school and send teams to various sections of town and return to the School for lunch at 12noon. It's not difficult work and the community appreciates the boys' effort.
April Camping Trip
4/15-17 The April camping trip will be at Nobscot Scout Reservation in Sudbury and site-seeing in Boston on Saturday and Sunday. The plan is to get CityPasses for Boston (allows us to visit four locations - see www.citypass.com). The camping trip cost will be $55.00 (covers the cost of the CItyPass) and the troop will cover meals (at camp), subway passes and the cost of camping.
In order to provide this experience to the boys I will need the following support.
1.) Adults who are willing to camp out at Nobscot.
2.) Adults who are willing to chaperone each day (need to meet us at Nobscot, drive to the Alewife T station and return us to the campsite on Saturday night; Sunday night we will just go home)
3.) We'll need to get a firm count on who is interested in the trip (so I can get the CItyPasses) by April 5th.
Summer Camp
The troop will be attending summer camp at Camp Wanocksett, August 14-20. The cost of camp is $375 if paid before May 1st ($395 after that date). If the cost of camp is a problem please let me know. The Council office prefers Troops pay for camp with one check; if you plan to take advantage of the early bird special please get the camp fee to me by 4/26; checks should be made payable to Troop 4 Clinton.
Summer camp is a great opportunity for the boys to earn badges and experience all of the activities the camp has to offer.
The most important item needed for summer camp is a completed Boy Scout medical form (a copy of the form is attached). Boy Scouts of America require that each person attending camp have a physical exam within one (1) year of attending camp.
Sea Base
For those attending the Sea Base trip Jim wants to provide the following reminders.
The BSA medical form that was sent home needs to be completed before the trip; according to the Participant Guide this form must be signed by the MD. A copy of the front and back of the Scout’s insurance card is also needed.
The final payment for Sea Base will be due on April 26th . The final payment is $320.
